In its more than 30 years of operation, Voluntariat has established itself as one of the leading organisations in Slovenia in the field of international mobility and internationally oriented non-formal education for young people, training young people for international youth work and active youth participation, with a particular focus on learning and raising awareness of global learning processes and the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities in our programmes. We are also an organisation of public interest in the field of youth work and our main activities are related to working with young people and supporting the development of the youth sector.
Our activities and programmes cover several areas of the youth sector, which are in line with Article 4 of the Youth Sector Act:
- promoting youth autonomy;
- non-formal learning and increasing young people’s competences;
- youth access to the labour market and youth entrepreneurship development;
- care for young people with fewer opportunities in society;
- volunteering, solidarity and intergenerational cooperation between young people;
- youth mobility and international integration.
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME:
The main purpose of our programme is to provide space for, organise and deliver non-formal learning activities with and for young people, at international, national and local level, and to strengthen young people’s skills and competences for more active participation in society, with a particular focus on international youth mobility and international volunteering programmes. Through our programmes, we aim to empower young people to act as responsible, active and global citizens in their local communities, and to transfer the knowledge and skills they have acquired to their peers and other contexts of action.
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES:
- To develop, coordinate and implement non-formal learning activities with a focus on international volunteering and international mobility.
- Promoting the importance of international volunteering as an important value and tool for competence building, for active citizenship and for socio-economic inclusion, and addressing the challenges of the different spheres of young people’s lives.
- Networking and networking at global, European and national level and developing new practices, methods in the field of international volunteering, non-formal learning and youth work, identifying the impact of these programmes and implementing advocacy practices.
- Developing a supportive environment for public institutions and NGOs in the Municipality of Ljubljana to engage in and implement international mobility through ERASMUS+ and ESE programmes.

EXPECTED RESULTS OF THE PROGRAMME:
- well-developed and implemented non-formal educational activities, with a focus on international volunteering abroad and in Slovenia;
Evaluation of the programmes and work carried out and orientations for further development of the programme prepared; - young people’s competences and skills in practice strengthened through their involvement in our programmes;
- better knowledge of international volunteering and mobility programmes among young people throughout Slovenia and better networking with other NGOs and related organisations in order to participate in promotional events;
- well-developed and implemented non-formal educational activities with a focus on international volunteering in relation to global learning and the Sustainable Development Goals;
- the planned tools for identifying young people’s competences and skills are developed and ready for use;
- non-formal educational activities focusing on enhancing young people’s skills and competences are well developed and implemented;
- Increased networking of public interest organisations in the field of youth work in order to create common good practices to increase young people’s competences and skills for better integration in society and for taking on the role of active citizens.
