EQUALity: Together for a more inclusive future for young people (2024)

The project addressed the problem of unequal opportunities for young people from small towns and peri-urban areas in Slovenia to access volunteering, education and mobility programmes that are crucial for their personal and professional development. The project focused on engaging young people from small towns and peri-urban areas, who are often deprived of opportunities for active participation in civil society due to their geographical and social isolation. The workshops were based on the principles of equal opportunities and non-discrimination (Article 21 of the EU Charter), with the aim of breaking down stereotypes and promoting intercultural dialogue.
The project provided young people in peri-urban areas with access to knowledge about their rights and opportunities to engage in volunteering projects where they can acquire valuable skills and competences for their personal development and professional future. By directly addressing young people through demonstration workshops, we reduced barriers to participation, boosted their self-confidence and encouraged them to make a positive contribution to the community.
