The project “E-tick: e-course and training for ethical communication” develops knowledge, skills and attitudes based on critical thinking, ethical communication, media literacy and intercultural awareness among young people. It is an extension of the existing E-tick course, contributing to the digital transformation, which in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of digital education and media literacy even more. In this way, we aim to involve learners, educators, youth workers, young people and organisations in the realisation of digital transformation. The project aims to nurture social and intercultural skills, and socio-educational development.
PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT:
- To strengthen critical thinking, increase intercultural awareness and media literacy, and develop knowledge and skills based on ethical communication and global learning.
- Strengthening key social and digital competences of both young people (volunteers) and educators (teachers and trainers and camp leaders) through a combination of best global learning methodologies and an innovative online platform.
- Encouraging young people and other target groups to actively engage and reflect on issues of global (in)justice and encouraging them to actively work towards understanding cultural diversity, ethical communication – respectful treatment of all by reducing prejudice, and more important than ever, media literacy.
- To contribute to the maintenance of social inclusion, the promotion of diversity, and intercultural and inter religious dialogue.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- To develop knowledge, skills and attitudes based on critical thinking, ethical communication, media literacy and intercultural awareness among young people;
- Upgrading and developing materials to support youth educators (youth workers, trainers, teachers, camp leaders) in deepening/upgrading their work in education on global learning and ethical communication;
- Strengthen the critical and media literacy of young people, youth workers, trainers, teachers, camp leaders and improve the awareness of volunteers before going on the project.
TARGET GROUPS OF THE PROJECT:
- (international) volunteers that we host and support;
- camp leaders;
- facilitators;
- NGO workers interested in the topics addressed by the project;
- organisations working in the field of international volunteering;
- primary and secondary school teachers and students;
- students of international development cooperation and social sciences.

EXPECTED PROJECT RESULT(S):
- Existing E-tick web platform updated and upgraded;
- Support activities and tools created to address the themes of the platform;
- Ethical communication and global learning workshops for teachers created;
- Ethical communication and global learning workshops for trainers and camp leaders created;
- A manual for the implementation of support activities to address the platform themes and workshops on ethical communication and global learning for teachers, trainers and camp leaders created.
