Zavod Voluntariat has successfully completed a three-month project ENAKOpravnoST (‘EQUALITY’), aimed at empowering young people with fewer opportunities. The project was carried out within the framework of the Proteus micro-grant, coordinated by the SLOGA Platform, and addressed the challenges faced by youth from rural, socially, and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Workshops as a path to knowledge and motivation
The project delivered 7 interactive workshops in the final years of secondary schools in different fields of study, including economic technician, construction technician, car technician, plumber, metalworker, logistics technician and mechatronics technician. A total of 127 young people attended the workshops, where they were provided with information materials and encouraged to reflect on their career options, their role in society and the importance of inclusion.

Also online – awareness campaign
To reach a wider range of young people, we also launched a series of four social media posts to show who young people with fewer opportunities are, what obstacles they face and why “equality is not the same as equity”. The aim of the posts was to encourage understanding, empathy and the active involvement of young people in creating a fairer society.

Career counseling opportunities
An important part of the project was the possibility of individual career counselling (after the workshops), where young people received concrete guidance on further education, job opportunities and European programmes such as Erasmus+ (youth exchanges, youth worker training, Discover EU), the European Solidarity Corps (volunteering programme), SCI international camps and other forms of non-formal education and mobility.
Long-term impacts of the project
In the long term, the project will contribute to greater awareness of international programmes and volunteering among young people, especially those from smaller towns and rural areas where information is often less accessible. We expect increased youth involvement in civil society, greater interest in participating in international projects, and more positive feedback in local communities, as experiences gained through volunteering abroad often lead to local engagement upon returning home.
Why does the ENAKOpravnoST project matter?
The project addresses an important societal issue – how to ensure that all young people have access to opportunities, regardless of their background or the obstacles they face. Through better information, access to counseling, and raising awareness among the wider public, we contribute to a more just, connected, and inclusive society.
Equality means giving everyone the same, and equity means giving everyone what they need to achieve the same high level.
Thank you to all participating schools, students, teachers, and partners whose support has made it possible for the ENAKOpravnoST project to achieve its purpose.
