The overall objective of the European Solidarity Corps is to promote the short- and long-term voluntary involvement of young people and organisations in accessible and high-quality solidarity activities, in particular volunteering, as a way of strengthening cohesion, solidarity, democracy, European identity and active citizenship in the Union and beyond, while addressing social and humanitarian challenges on the ground, with a particular focus on promoting sustainable development, social inclusion and equal opportunities.
THE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT OF OUR ESE PROJECTS:
Voluntariat’s main activity is international youth volunteering projects, which we carry out in the framework of various programmes and international networks. We see our mission within the European Solidarity Corps programme as a continuation of our established work in the field of facilitating mobility for young people, while pursuing our objectives and values. Participation in European Solidarity Corps projects, as well as Erasmus+, significantly enriches our offer of international volunteering activities and brings the work of the organisation closer to an even greater number of young people. We provide young people with quality international experiences and intercultural learning, and through active participation we encourage their innovation and creativity, strengthen their competences and facilitate their job search. This criterion is taken into account in both our role as host and support organisation. With our support, ESC volunteers participate in activities through which they present their personal commitment to volunteering within the values of mutual respect, peacemaking and intercultural learning, and promote volunteering as a value and a tool to achieve the active participation of young people. ESC volunteers continue to use their acquired competences after the end of the project in further cooperation with Voluntariat or their supporting organisation, thus disseminating the project results.
