Društvo Humanitas and Zavod Voluntariat invite you to a unique event dedicated to ethical communication.
Join us on January 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the hall of the Tabor Student Dormitory (Kotnikova 4, Ljubljana) for a presentation of the updated E-TICK online course and an interactive workshop on this topic.
Why attend?
In a world where we are constantly flooded with false, exaggerated, and biased information, reflecting on ethical communication has become essential. At this event, we will explore:
- How to support young people in finding relevant and verified information?
- Which social media content can be trusted?
- How to create messages that take into account the unequal power relations between the global North and South?
- How can we communicate ethically and responsibly about global challenges?
The presentation and workshop are intended for everyone interested in fairer and more responsible communication, especially:
- educators and youth workers,
- volunteers,
- NGO staff and
- anyone who wants to contribute to a more informed and responsible society.
Benefits of the E-TICK online course
The E-TICK online course offers a wide range of practical content, questions and exercises to help you understand and apply ethical communication in practice. Did you know that:
- over 500 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute?
- around 9,000 tweets are posted on X (formerly Twitter) every second?
This course will give you a better understanding of how to avoid manipulation, identify relevant information and create communication that is not sensationalist but promotes objectivity and accountability.
Event information
The event is free of charge and includes refreshments. Due to limited spots, registration is mandatory.
You can fill out the registration form until January 15, 2025.
The E-TICK online course has been developed and upgraded by the following NGOs: Zavod Voluntariat (Slovenia), Comhlámh (Ireland), Društvo Humanitas (Slovenia), INEX-SDA (Czech Republic). We are sincerely grateful for the support of the national agency MOVIT and the ERASMUS+ program for the co-financing of the project.
