PICTURE EXHIBITION in Bi-Ko-Fe (22nd January 2009)

The Club of Volunteers arranged a photo exhibition in Bi-Ko-Fe in January.The pictures were gathered from participants of international workcamps. The competition theme were "Artistic" and "Volunteering" and 3 winners were chosen from each category. It was a tough decision, because there were so many good candidates. FRENCH & NORWEGIAN EVENING in Cocoa cafe (19th Feb 2009)

COV kicked off its first official event in Cocoa Cafe. The 2 volunteers Vincent from France & Tone Kristin from Norway, presented their countries as well as some of its cuisine. Crépes and sandwiches with salmon and scrambled eggs went down easily! It was an inter-cultural evening and hopefully the visitors learnt some interesting facts about Norway and France!

CLEANING ACTION in Bežigrad (10th April 2009)

For the Earth Day (22nd April), the Club of Volunteers and its members took part of a cleaning action of a parking lot. The action was part of an initiative called "Za lepso Ljubljano" and was carried out by SESAM. The aim was to make a playground for children and a social meeting point. Lots of people showed up from the area, schools and other organisations, and together we managed to clear and arrange the place a lot.

CINEMA EVENING in Kinodvor (15th April 2009)

To celebrate the Earth Day the Club of Volunteers had organised a projection of the movie "The Fox and the Child" (by Luc Jacquet).

VOLUNTARY ACTION DAY in the Animal Shelter (26th May 2009)

As a Club event, we went to Zavetišče Ljubljana to get more knowledge about responsibility and care of the pets as well as offer them our help: we had a presentation of the work of the shelter, we went for a tour to see the animals and at the end we took the dogs out for a 40 minutes walk.

INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY (21st September)

The international peace day is being celebrated on 21st of September. Originally it was established by the UN in 1982. COV made an event for this day! We gathered on Prešernov square with a peace banner and asked people to write their thought about peace and peace preserving on a big poster; and we also took pictures of those who supports peace.

VOLUNTARY ACTION DAY in the Organic Farm (28th Sept 2009)

The organic farm in Šempeter Pri Litiji (near Litija) welcomed volunteers from the Club of Volunteers for one day of volunteering.

We had the chance to get to know more about organic farming in this beautiful remote place up the hill, in the middle of the forest.

We did help on the every day task in the farm: we cut invasive grass and picked up "repa".

In exchange of our work we had really good fun and we got a lunch prepared by the friendly owner.

MOVIE EVENING in Menza pri Koritu (18th November 2009)

The Norwegian movie "Elling" and the French movie "Delicatessen" were shown after a presentation of the new movie of Zavod Voluntariat: "Destination Volunteering".
