5 EVS projects in Denmark

The Danish organization Dansk ICYE still needs 5 volunteers for 5 different project. You can choose between environmental projects, working with the youth or working with people with disabilities.

The deadline for application for all projects is 5th September 2016!

 

  • Kattegatcentre is a dynamic and exciting place where you can experience the ocean and its animal life. Namely, this is a marine zoo with over 250 different species. In addition, through their school service they aim to support and deepen the teachings in biology at schools.
  • Limfjordsskolen is a boarding school for mentally and physically challenged young people. The main purpose of the school is to equip and strengthen the students in becoming as independent and active in their own life as possible, and in spite of their handicap be an active citizen in the local community.
  • Hertha Levefællesskab is a living community for mentally and physically challenged people. It follows the idea of reverse integration where people integrate into the lives of handicapped. The living community consists of 2 houses with 19 mentally handicapped residents.
  • Sindhuset is a drop-in centre for socially disadvantaged adults, more specifically an activity house for psychiatric patients who are alcoholics or abusers of medicine, and people who need a place to meet with other people. An average week in Sindhuset will have about 60-70 different people visiting the house and the visitors can come without the interference of the authorities and be anonymous.
  • Vandel Efterskole is a boarding school for young people aged 15-17. An efterskole is a unique Danish residential school, where students from the ages of 14 to 18 can finish their primary education. Each efterskole is a self-governing independent institution and it deals with both the educational and personal development of the students. Requirement: Age 20+.
